BASS!!! Fun on the beds at the "Secret Creek"

This fish was caught on my first cast today. When this happens you just know it is going to be a good day! This one was the most aggressive of the 4 or 5 that saw my fly hit the water right by them. It was a nice little 14-15" fish that was a very satisfying catch. Until....

I found this girl up on a bed and got the fly right where it would get her to attack. A nice fish from right here in the heart of Dallas! I just can't believe that people who fish don't look for these opportunities more often. It is so great for me to be able to get to this in 15 minutes and have this much fun.

Here is the BIG winner for me today. This fish wouldn't move off her bed no matter how many times I put a fly in front of her and that gave me lots of chances to try flies over and over til we found a dark brown leech pattern that worked. And now I have these pictures and the memories of getting her up to hand. She was a beautiful fish and I would love the chance to catch her again someday. Hopefully she will spawn and lots of her fry will be there growing big soon!

This was the last fish I caught today, a good way to end the day no doubt! I had a great time for 3 hours today catching these fish and enjoying their fight. I had a couple of people come up and ask if there were fish in this creek, well yeah! It is almost criminal to have this much fun, especially without leaving town. I love going to all of the different areas I get to fish in, but this is really fun.

And soon the bream will start to spawn and this creek has some pretty nice green sunfish in it. That is equally as fun as anything else for me. I think it may be a really good summer for fishing around here. I can't wait to see how this turns out.
