Skunked on the Duck!!!

 

Ouch!!! That was the story today, a big old skunking. But, it is January 18th and not consistently warm with a stiff north wind. What was I to expect!?! Ah well, I tried.

I did get to take out the 4 weight again. I have gotten to really like that rod and the set up on it. It is a really nice casting rod, and I haven't tired it with the double taper line I have for it.  I really like the four for nymphing and high sticking.

Ah, back to the Duck. The creek AKA Duck Creek Linear Park, in the summer it is a slam dunk kinda bluegill creek. Right in the middle of a neighborhood with people everywhere, and if you know the tricks there are some nice bass in there. I need to get the canoe out and find some of the other areas in DFW to fish in the summer. I have spent some time on White Rock Lake and found some fine gills there, and a few bass also. There are sandies and carp in there as well and I am starting to get the rumors about technique for those.

Rowlett Creek has a nice sand bass run coming up but it gets nightmare crowded, may need to take the kayak over for that one. Plus WRL Creek has some great holes for sand bass as well.

And there are lots of trips to take this year so we will see what happens, but I do know there will be some fishing for me this year!

Alright, back to the reality of life and it's normal drudgery. But, go forth good fisher persons and catch them fishes! Or, good luck and get out and fish!
