Where is this heading?? Really???
So I am embarking on something sort of scary and at the same time exciting. A journey to clarity and direction for my life. A way to be sure I am doing what makes me happy and fulfilled. This will include some new things and some new ones and hopefully combine into the life I want to lead.
It will likely involve a change in company of employment and maybe a change in career direction. These are things that remain to be seen. I know that where I am at right now is less than ideal for me and has to be changed.
This may be the hardest thing I ever do, but may also be the most fulfilling and eye opening at the same time. It all is a work in progress, and does that ever really change? At some point we are more comfortable or less than "normal" but do we ever stop working on ourselves?
I truly feel much better about this life change day by day and really think it is in my best interest for my life. What do I want to do and where? That is something to be decided as this process goes on. Ideally I would like to do something in the fly fishing world; but I might stay in bicycling but in a different capacity. I am not sure yet that I would go "out on the road" in bicycling but it could be a possibility.
There are so many things to work out but at least I feel like I am on a more positive path with my life. Now the really tough work comes, figuring it all out and making it happen!

LMK next time you are down this way and we can see about finding some fish here in DFW for you.
THX for the kind words, hopefully I can get my blog doing as well as you do with yours.

I'm actually going to be in Plano over the weekend seeing family for an early Thanksgiving, but not sure if there will be time for any fishing.
What do you do in the Bike world? I keep telling myself that I want to get into cycling, would love to get a road bike, but the price tags keep scaring me off!
I work at Richardson Bike Mart near White Rock. Have really done it all over the years. Sold them, built them and fixed them; now I do a lot of administrative stuff and whatever else needs my attention.
A good way to see if you are really interested in road riding is renting a bike. It is low investment way to see what it really is about. Then you can buy a bike and get rolling if it is something you want to continue. And some shops will have used bikes. A good entry leve bike would be ~1500-2000.
